At the Studio at the Grange, human movement is more than exercise.
We all want to move better to function and feel better. Restoring lost ranges of motion, healthy movement and hope creates lasting change and is incredibly empowering.
Moving more, moving more of your parts, and learning to observe your movement can make positive and lasting change a reality. At the Studio at the Grange, you’ll learn how to move and feel better, increasing function and decreasing pain.
Human bodies evolved with movement. Movement is at the core of health. Let's move more, and move more of you.

Hi, I’m Libby Scofield.
I specialize in corrective and restorative movement. I have taught movement since 2006 to students of all ages and worked with people who are injured, athletic, or simply want a better quality of life. I have extensive training in many exercise modalities, such as Pilates, Functional Range Conditioning, Core function and gait analysis. Please visit the Services page to learn more about classes, workshops and private sessions.

About the Grange
Built around the turn of the century, the Grange functioned as a church until the 1930's, when it was transitioned to a Grange. It functioned as a grange until the early 1980s, when it was rented to a series of businesses including a Kumon math establishment. In the early 1990s, it became vacant. I purchased it in 2020, remodeled the former commercial kitchen as a living space, and completed the movement studio in late 2025.

Over the last couple of years, Libby has influenced the way I sense and move through the world in an aging body. Her group classes have helped me transform my feet, improve my balance, address injuries, and access muscles I wasn't even aware I had. She employs subtle, targeted movements that meet people wherever they are, but can also challenge very athletic bodies.

I’ve been taking Libby’s class for three years and have learned a great deal about body mechanics, alignment and functional movement.
Libby incorporates the above concepts to yoga, Pilates, proper breathing techniques and other exercise modalities.
I’ve learned that a healthy and strong body comes not from the number of reps a person does, the amount of weight one lifts, but rather utilizing the muscles the way they are intended to keep the body healthy, strong and flexible.
The exercises are designed to be done at
home as well. Modifications are available to the students if there are physical limitations.
I encourage anyone who wants to keep their body strong, flexible and free from injury to attend Libby’s class, she is a positive, supportive instructor.
I am much more cognizant of how my body should work and what activities I need to do to keep myself moving as I look 70 right in the eye!

I first started working with Libby years ago while I was recovering from an accident. What stands out to me about Libby is her incredible range of experience and knowledge. She has such a wide background in body functionality and exercise, which, in combination with her curiosity, intelligence, thoughtfulness, and adaptability makes her a valuable resource for just about anyone, whatever their needs and goals. I’m grateful for her guidance and recommend her to anyone looking for a uniquely well-rounded and versatile fitness professional.
